Our Story

Thirty years of horses on the forest

A family of riders and carriage drivers, bringing Faircote back to life.

Faircote through the years

A yard with a long history

Faircote sits on the edge of the Ashdown Forest in the High Weald, deep in Winnie-the-Pooh country. The public footpath across our fields leads towards Poohsticks Bridge, and the forest itself is a short ride from the gate.

For around thirty years the yard has been a home for horses. We are proud to be writing its next chapter.

  1. 1990s

Faircote Stud begins life as a livery yard and stud, with owners living on site and the forest on the doorstep.

  2. 2000s to 2010s

The yard grows into one of the best-equipped on the forest: an indoor school, a large outdoor arena, a two-furlong all-weather gallop and a Claydon horse walker.

  3. August 2026

Faircote Hall and Stud is bought by a family of riders and carriage drivers.

  4. September 2026

Faircote reopens as Faircote Equestrian Centre & Stud, welcoming liveries, riders and drivers back to the yard.
